The business was launched in 2008 by owners Tom & Fiona Shuttleworth and is situated between Temora & Cootamundra NSW.
StockWatch is trusted by farmers across the country to provide them with the information they need to manage Internal Parasites in their livestock.
The science behind our testing is robust, however, we offer our services from a unique angle – being livestock producers ourselves we understand the direct implications of all of the parasites we test for having experienced them both in the lab under the scope as well as in the paddock.
We run a commercial sheep enterprise – self replacing merino flock, also turning off some fat lambs as well as running a number of horses.
Tom spent his early working years in outback South Australia on some of the largest sheep stations in the country before moving east to the Western Districts of Victoria to an intensive sheep and beef operation and in addition to routine farm work took on responsibility for FECs in that large enterprise. He also spent some time working in southern Queensland on a large merino stud.
He managed two properties for several years in the Western Riverina before Tom & Fiona purchased their own property east of Temora.
He spent several years working as a Wool Broker, and operations manager for a Wool Testing Laboratory. This alongside his tertiary education at Marcus Oldham Agriculture College amounts to a wealth of well rounded industry experience.
Fiona has owned horses from a young age competing in a variety of fields. She attended Marcus Oldham College studying Horse Business Management, then moved to working on thoroughbred horse studs for several years in both Victoria and New South Wales.
Fiona has also worked in the legal industry and spent time as a vet nurse in an emergency clinic in Melbourne where she first gained experience in worm testing.
Since her return to rural NSW she’s worked alongside Tom as they took on running their own farm, raising their family and building StockWatch.
We are both extremely proud of the business we have created. We get to work with a large range of clients over a very wide area, from the largest commercial and corporate enterprises to hobby farmers with small numbers of animals. We value each and every client equally and are more than happy to discuss testing options and results, to ensure good outcomes are achieved.
